Dim It, Dammit.

Bangalore Needs to get rid of High Beams. It is big problem. I am looking forward for every one's help in finding out solution to this problem. People have gone so irresponsible that they don't care about others at all.

In my opinion High Beams should not be used ...
  • It blinds others and can cause accidents.
  • It causes eye pain and fatigure for others whom your high beam targets.
  • If few people use high beam, others are forced to use it as they now need more light see things clearly.
  • High beam is not for city driving. City roads are pretty well lit. There is no harm in turning it on for some time to get an idea about road ahead.
What can be done about it?
  • first things first. We ourselves should stop the practice of using High Beam.
  • If someone behind you is using High Beam - when ever traffic stops, you can request him/her to not to use high beams.
  • Take this topic at lunch discussion (or other forms of casual discussions) so that people are aware of the fact that this is not a good practice. I'm sure a large % of ppl do it because they don't know the harmful impacts of this practice.
  • Put notices in your company, apartment and other general place to educate others.
Other ideas are welcome (and needed very badly). It is our Bangalore, no one else has the responsibility of making it better.
